Survey Question Checker
Paste your survey questions below and our AI will check each one for bias, leading language, double-barreled structure, and other common problems. You will get specific feedback and suggested rewrites.
How This Calculator Works
The Question Checker uses AI to analyze your survey questions against seven common quality issues: leading language, double-barreled questions, biased framing, unclear scales, missing response options, excessive length, and negation confusion.
For each question, the AI identifies specific problems, explains why they matter, and suggests an improved version. Questions are scored from 1 to 10, where 10 means no issues detected.
The analysis is powered by the same AI models that drive Inqvey surveys, demonstrating the quality of language understanding behind our prediction engine.
The Formula
Quality Score (1-10): Each question is scored based on the number and severity of issues detected. A score of 10 means no problems found. Critical issues (leading language, double-barreled) reduce the score more than warnings (minor length concerns).
Issue Severity: Critical issues can fundamentally change how respondents answer, introducing systematic bias into your results. Warnings are less severe but still worth addressing for cleaner data.
How to Interpret Your Results
Score 8-10: Your questions are well-written. Minor improvements may be possible but the questions will produce reliable data as written.
Score 5-7: Some issues detected that could affect response quality. Review the suggested rewrites and consider updating your questions before launching.
Score 1-4: Significant problems found. These questions are likely to produce biased or unreliable responses. Use the suggested rewrites as starting points for revision.
